Evelyn M. Clifton, 88, of Pekin, IL, formerly of Decatur, passed away at 3:12 P.M. Wednesday, September 15, 2010 at Timber Creek Nursing Home in Pekin, IL.

Graveside services and interment will be held at 12:00 P.M. on Monday, September 20, 2010 in Point Pleasant Cemetery, Decatur, IL.  Visitation will be from 10:30 – 11:30 A.M. Monday at Dawson & Wikoff Funeral Home, North Chapel, Decatur, IL.  Memorials may be made to Macon County Honor Guard.  Condolences may be directed to the family at www.dawson-wikoff.com.

Mrs. Clifton was born on April 27, 1922 in South Little Rock, Arkansas, the daughter of John and Alta (Gregory) Burris.  She was retired from Taylor Pharmaceuticals in Decatur and was a Homemaker.  She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Decatur.  She married Earl C. “Bud” Clifton on November 12, 1977.  He preceded her in death on June 9, 2007. 

She is survived by:  her children, Jean Young of Morton, IL, Pat Slade of Cynthiana, KY, Barbara Polk of Lincoln, IL, John Underwood and wife Georgetta of Pekin, IL, David Underwood and wife Connie of Fort Leonard, MO; brother, Charles Burris of Flint, MI; brother-in-law,  Jerry Clifton; fifteen grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one daughter, Helen Smith, and four sisters.
